What ShortMax is

ShortMax is the fantasy-lover’s pick: when a short drama has dragons, palaces or a cursed prince, odds are it looks best here. Ride the promo bundles and it is also the cheapest way into the genre.

In the shape of the category it is best for fantasy spectacle — costumes, effects and period settings. That is the short version; the rest of this page is the evidence for it, and the cases where it is the wrong pick.

What is actually in the library

ShortMax carries 18,133 series across 18 languages. 4,079 of those are in English — 22% of the catalogue. That is a smaller English share than the headline number suggests, so check the language table below before assuming the full library is available to you.

It added 3,748 titles in the last thirty days — about 20.7% of the library in a month. That is a fast-moving shelf: come back in a quarter and a meaningful slice of it will be new. It is not the biggest library we track — ReelShort is larger — but size is the least useful number in this category. What matters is depth in the genre you came for.

Where ShortMax is strongest is dragon, werewolf, forbidden romance. If that list matches what you actually watch, this is a shortlist app for you regardless of where it sits in our overall ranking — the ranking averages across everything, and nobody watches everything.

We do not quote coin prices anywhere on this site, and it is worth saying why: bundle sizes and per-episode costs change often enough that any figure we published would be wrong within weeks, and a stale price is worse than no price. What does not change is the shape. Coins are bought in bundles that rarely divide evenly into what you need. Free coins are available daily to anyone willing to show up and tap. And where an unlimited pass exists, it beats coins for anyone watching more than one series at once.

The one piece of advice that applies to every app here: if you buy a weekly pass, turn off auto-renew the same day. You keep the week you paid for, and you do not pay for the ten weeks after you lose interest. That single habit is the difference between this format being cheap entertainment and an annoying line on a statement.

These are what current users say, not findings we have reproduced ourselves — an important distinction when the complaint is about money. Is it suitable for younger viewers?

ShortMax carries an 18+ rating on the App Store — the highest Apple assigns, and the one rating worth stating plainly. It is driven as much by violence and mature themes as by romance, which is why our own scales below tell a different story from the badge. On our own scale its romance runs from about heat 1 to 3 — implied intimacy at the top end, nothing explicit. Violence and language are a separate axis and we rate those separately on every series, because a revenge thriller with no romance at all can still be the least suitable thing on the app. Both scales are explained on our ratings page.

Who should install it

Install ShortMax if you want dragon or werewolf and you would rather have for fantasy spectacle — costumes, effects and period settings.
